Join us for a wonderful weekend of sewing and fun.

Come and spend some quality time with your sewing on our all inclusive** retreat. Thredbo is a spectacular site to visit with loads to do. We will keep you busy with the choice of three great tutors, wonderful food and evening activities but you could also slip in an early morning walk or chairlift ride to the top of Mt Kosciuszko. 

Come with your friends or make friends there.  

The Thredbo Alpine Hotel  is full of character and a great place to stay.  
It is central to all of the facilities, but you won't need to venture out with the retreat fully catered for morning and afternoon tea, breakfast, lunch and two dinners.  

Register your interest now with a small deposit.  Once the classes are released you can pay the remainder up front or use a payment plan.  A bus will be organised to and from Canberra if there is enough demand.

**Travel costs to the venue are not included.
 Class supplies will be additional, depending on the tutor.

Register your interest by paying a fully refundable $50 deposit. 
Payment plans are available, with three equal payments due 30 Oct 2024, 30 Dec 2024 and 28 Feb 2025. 
Once registered, we will contact you to determine your preferred tutor and classes and any other needs.

Full class program will be out soon.

Cancellations received before 31 January will be fully refunded.  Any unavoidable cancellations after that date will be negotiated.  Changes of mind after 31 Jan will not be refundable.  Save $50 by paying the full amount up front.

Cecile Whatman

Danni Reynolds

Danni has been teaching patchwork for over 15 years and free motion quilting for 8 years. She is known as the creator of "Eppiflex EPP Templates" and "Heaven Scent Starch". Danni enjoys travelling and teaching quilting, and loves to make products useful to quilters.

Class Information

Legit Kits with Cecile Whatman

Make your next quilt Legit! This class uses your choice of one of the Legit Kits to create a masterpiece in foundation piecing. The Legit Kit method is a smart way to build a very detailed quilt in small undaunting steps. Cecile will guide you and show you all the tips and tricks along the way.

Eppiflex Applique Masterclass

You'll be an expert in applique by the time you've completed these two classes with Danni from Eppiflex. "Aura bloom" is a sensational looking large cushion that features gradient fabrics.
"Clamshells the Easy Way" is Danni's easy and simplified method of tackling the elusive clamshell pattern.
Both projects are hand or machine sewing.

Retreat location

The Thredbo Alpine Hotel is a four-star hotel and rates as very good in both Wotif and Booking.com reviews.  It is full of character and a great place to stay.  
The hotel is located in the heart of Thredbo Village, just metres from the base of the Kosciuszko Express Chairlift. This is a historic property with an alluring sense of alpine culture – it has great character, charm and warmth. The rooms are comfortable and cosy, the dining outstanding and the staff friendly and welcoming.
